I posted this on MJ’s birthday. 🎂
Happy Birthday Michael! ❤️❤️❤️
Hee hee, owwwww!! 🎤🎶
I came across an ad for Michael on Instagram one night around a week before 24th April, the official premiere of Michael in my area. I perked up immediately but had mixed feelings. Is this for real? Who’s gonna play him? Will it work?
I learned that Michael’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, will take on this VERY important role. Wow, that’s interesting! And that’s when I also knew I was going to watch this biographical film (biopic) of Michael Jackson no matter what. 🧤👞💫
On 1st May, I went to the cinema to watch Michael on IMAX. Tell you what. I haven’t been to the cinema since the Lord Of The Rings trilogy anniversary viewing more than a decade ago. Michael brought me back to the cinema! 😜
I went into Michael knowing some facts & spoilers, all thanks to Instagram, which showed me everything Michael Jackson on my feed (at one point, it was 100% MJ 🤟 oh yeah!), but that did not deter my viewing experience. In fact, it adds more significance to his stories. Bear in mind, I also knew not everything depicted was 100% true.
So, how did I find Michael?
Michael was magic! 💫
I enjoyed Michael, the movie, so very much. It brought back the feels I had, we all had way back. I did not expect to cry from the beginning. It was so bittersweet to see young Michael, played wonderfully by Juliano Valdi. Then, Jaafar came on to depict Michael perfectly in his teen & adult years. You two did a very outstanding job. 👏👏👏 The tears never stopped until I exited the cinema.
Caramel popcorn is a must!

Jaafar didn’t look like Michael Jackson, but his side profile & smile remind me of him. There are some scenes where I thought I was looking at Michael. Jaafar managed to capture his singing, dancing, speech, action… and the MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL… his ESSENCE!!! ✨✨✨
When the ending credits rolled, many of us remained in our seats (we ain’t leaving yo!), enjoying his songs & relishing Michael’s magic through Jaafar one last time. I went to watch Michael for the 2nd time on 17th May. It was still so awesome. This time we stayed longer after the credits rolled. I read some fans watched over 20 times. Kudos!
While waiting for the Michael movie in IMAX…

For a very long time, I regretted not attending Michael Jackson’s HIStory World Tour concert when he came to my country in 1996. I was a student at that time. I thought surely there’ll be a next time. It took me 30 years to finally make peace with it. Thank you, Michael movie. 🥲🤗
Having learned more about Michael Jackson’s life, I broke down the whole day 3 days later. 😭😭😭 I read from fan accounts that many cried for him too. I would go on and cry every now & then when I hear his song & read his stories. What a life he had!
Because of the Michael movie, his songs are charting & topping music charts. He also gained many new young & old fans, and reignited the fans’ love & passion for him. Michael Mania is back! It’s like the 80s, only this time he’s no longer around. No one will ever surpass him, dead or alive, EVER. His allegations also found new understanding for those who had misunderstood him.
I’ve been listening to his songs daily. It’s like the movie unearthed everything I buried about him when he passed. I also finally listened to the Off The Wall album & I can say that it’s my most favorite Michael Jackson album. ❤️

What a privilege to have lived in the same era as him & experienced the wonderment that was Michael Joseph Jackson. I ❤️ that we’re celebrating him again. We missed you, Michael. ❤️❤️❤️ We will continue to miss you until the end of time.
As of 12th July 2026, Michael had grossed over $1 billion & is the no. 1 highest-grossing biographical film in history. Congratulations! 🥳🥳🥳
